My first day at work

Today is officially my first day at work. It was OK, I got familiarise with the dept, my fellow colleagues, set up my internet accounts, briefing and got my KBR pass.

I have to say that I was really impressed. The department was really organised and well-structured. I met Fern, a Malaysian who has made it big in KBR. She motivated me. She was exactly who I aspire to be- a Technical Professional specialising in protection and doing really well with her family in the UK for the last 6 years. I will aim to learn a lot from her. I don’t wanna give the impression that I’m a smart-ass, in fact I will buat muka tak malu and ask a lot of questions. From the looks of it, I think she has quite a high expectation from me. I will prove to her that I’m willing to learn more than I know though.

At the moment, I’m more comfortable settling in as a new-comer, fresh graduate to start work. I don’t wanna start giving the impression that my 5 years working experience made me a competent design engineer. Coz, I kinda feel that the knowledge gained from my 5 years working is so little from what Fern has achieved.

OK, gotta go to bed now. I have an early start tomorrow and it there’s so much catching up to do!
